NoPeek does not collect anything. It has no server, no account,
no analytics and no advertising.
Nothing you scan, see or do in this app leaves your phone unless you
choose to share it yourself.
What NoPeek does with each permission
Camera
Used by the Look and Night tools to show you a live view while you
search for a hidden lens. Frames are analysed on your phone — to mark
bright spots, and to recognise everyday objects so the app can tell you
whether a reflection there is normal — and are then discarded.
No photo or video is saved automatically, and none is
uploaded.
Location
Android requires every app to hold location permission before it may
list the names of nearby Wi-Fi networks. This is an Android rule, not our
choice.
NoPeek uses that permission for one purpose: reading the names and
signal strength of nearby Wi-Fi networks, so a camera broadcasting its own
setup network can be spotted. NoPeek never reads your position,
never stores it and never transmits it. No GPS coordinate is
requested at any point.
Bluetooth
Used to list nearby Bluetooth devices, because some cameras advertise
over Bluetooth while in setup mode. NoPeek does not connect or pair with
anything.
Network and Wi-Fi state
Used to read your phone's own IP address so it knows which range of
addresses to check, and to contact devices on that local network.
All of this traffic stays inside your local network.
NoPeek makes no connection to the internet other than Google Play's own
purchase check.
Notifications
Only used by Night watch, and only after you turn Night watch on. If a
new device appears on the network overnight, NoPeek tells you. Nothing is
sent anywhere; the notification is created on your phone.
What is stored on your phone
Three things, all of them local to the device and none of them
transmitted:
- Your chosen language.
- Whether you have bought the paid features.
- A short record of your recent scans, so a later scan can be compared
against an earlier one and a newly appeared device can be pointed out.
Each remembered device is stored as its address on the network (IP, Wi-Fi
BSSID or Bluetooth id), the name it reported, and whether it was flagged
as a camera. No image and no personal information is stored with it.
You can clear all of it by clearing the app's storage, or by
uninstalling.
Photographs you take
If you tap Save evidence, NoPeek takes one photograph
through your phone's camera and hands it straight to Android's own share
sheet, along with a caption containing the date and time. You
then choose what happens to it — save it, message it, email it, or cancel.
NoPeek does not upload it, does not keep a copy of its own, and does not see
where you send it.
Purchases
If you buy the paid features, the transaction is handled entirely by
Google Play. NoPeek asks Google Play whether a purchase exists and receives
only yes or no. It sends Google no information about your scans. Google's
handling of the transaction is covered by Google's own privacy policy.
Children
NoPeek is a security tool intended for adults. It is not directed at
children and collects no information from anyone.
Your rights
Because no data is collected or transmitted, there is nothing held
elsewhere to request, correct or delete. Everything the app remembers sits
on your own phone, and uninstalling removes it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change and the updated
policy will be published at the same address before the change takes
effect.
